Just a Little World

Just a Little World is a customizable generator for TTRPGs.

There are a never ending amount of TTRPGs and settings that go with these systems. But the tools to help run these campaigns heavily have gone into management or are only good for a specific system. Is this idea new? Of coarse not, there are online generators that people often use. But I find most if not all cannot be customized for your game. For example, I might run a campaign where magic is everywhere, but you might want magic to be outlawed. Why then should we be expected to use the same generator?

How easy is it?

All the templates for this program use Excel or any datasheet program. All you need is the first row to be the "Header" field and all randomly rolled options would be in that column. That is it. My design philosophy is based on people who have little to no experience with datasheets to be able to use this. 

Long term goals?

Right now the program is "done". But sometime I have a few additions I would love to do for this project.

• MORE TEMPLATES! - I want to provide templates for a number of genres and TTRPG tables. Many TTRPGs have templates in their book and I want to be able to move those tables to datasheets for people to customize how they want. This is my main focus.
• Menu with options - Right now the application opens into the generator. I want to try and provide a better looking interface that can open into more features.
• Map Generations - I would like to add some way for custom map generations. If thats dungeons, towns, nations, whatever I can think that might make designing campaigns easier for Gamemasters or players.
• Custom Modules? - While I want to be able to control to some extent what modules get added, I am open to the idea of people adding their own custom modules to this. But I would need to think of the best ways to go about this.
• AI attachment - This is a down the road idea where this would be an AI that would be fed the randomly generated info into an AI that might add a new layer to your game.

I hope to get some more video up there shortly about how using a generator can help reduce the time for session prep and allows for a more reactive style of playing TTRPGs.
